SUPPORT RESEARCH AND EDUCATION

SAM was from 2021 through June 2023 funded principally by the University of Arizona. The State of Arizona passed a bill in June of 2023 that provided funding for construction and operations through June 2026. The funds were carefully spent, with every nut, bolt, wire, bead of silicone and bucket of paint accounted for with detailed bookkeeping and UA accounts verification. What we accomplished for the given funds could not have been done by a traditional aerospace company or NASA for less than 10x (quite literally).

The Phases of Development and photo essays tell the full story.

With construction complete and an incredible year of research behind us (2025), we are once again on our own, relying on grants, revenue generated by visiting schools and crewed missions, and donations. If you find the work we do to be of value, and our can-do energy contagious, we welcome your support, at whatever level you feel comfortable contributing.

This is tax deductible (501c3) in the United States. The University of Arizona Foundation takes a minimal 6% for management and operations. That’s a fair fee. The rest arrives to SAM. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out. We look forward to speaking with you.
